Voting began at 7 am on Wednesday and will continue till 6 pm in 59 assembly seats in nine districts of Uttar Pradesh namely Pilibhit, Lakhimpur Kheri, Sitapur, Hardoi, Unnao, Lucknow, Rae Bareli, Banda and Fatehpur. Meanwhile, Congress general secretary Harish Rawat on Tuesday posted a video on social media, alleging that it shows a man ticking and signing multiple postal ballots at an army centre. When asked about the tweet, Rawat’s spokesperson Surendra Kumar declined to disclose the source of the video, but claimed it was from Uttarakhand. He said the party has not yet made a formal complaint to the Election Commission in this regard, but it can take suo motu cognizance of it.
