New
Delhi,
Mar
9:

The
dates
for
conducting
elections
for
the
three
municipal
companies
in
Delhi
is
probably
to
be
introduced
in
the
subsequent
few
days,
ballot
authorities
stated
on
Wednesday.

Talking
at
a
press
convention,
State
Election
Commissioner
(SEC)
of
Delhi,
S
Okay
Srivastava,
stated
that
he
acquired
some
communication
from
the
central
authorities
at
4.30
PM
on
Wednesday.
Therefore,
the
dates
have been
not
being
introduced.

The dates for conducting elections for the three municipal corporations in Delhi is likely to be announced in the next few days, poll authorities said on Wednesday.

“As
central
authorities
raised
few
points
that
are
but
to
be
legally
examined
by
us,
we’ll
not
be
in a position
to
announce
MCD
election
dates
as
of
now.
We’ll
take
some
extra
days.
We have
to
conduct
the
elections
earlier than
18th
Might,”
the
State
Election
Commissioner.

Earlier,
he
was
scheduled
to
announce
the
dates
throughout
the
press
convention
at
5
PM.
“We
have been
about
to
announce
the
dates,
however
now
it
will
take
one other
5-7
days
to
announce
them,”
he
added.

“We
aren’t
suspending
the
elections.
If
at
all
unification
of
municipal
companies
take
place
earlier than
18th
Might,
then
we
have
to
study
the
scenario.
That is
why
we
want
time
as
of
now
to
search
authorized
opinion
on
it,”
he
clarified.

“The
authorities
maybe
needs
‘reorganisation
of
MCD’.
Might
be
they
might
re-unify
the
three
companies,
so
we
have
to
suppose
over
it,
and
then
announce
MCD
ballot
dates.
We
will
study
their
recommendation,”
he
instructed
reporters.

There
are
104
wards
every
in
the
North
and
the
South
Delhi
Municipal
Companies.
The
East
Delhi
Municipal
Company
has
64
wards.

Nevertheless,
Delhi
Deputy
CM
Manish
Sisodia
accused
that
the
EC
is
afraid
of
central
authorities.
He
stated,
“BJP
has
pressurised
EC
&
on
its
diktats,
EC
did not
announce
MCD
election
dates.
BJP
is
anxious
about
shedding
elections.
They
know
AAP
will
win
over
250
seats
&
are
making
an
excuse
of
unification
of
MCDs.”
