Uttar Pradesh and Chandigarh declare November 28 as a public vacation to mark Guru Tegh Bahadur Martyrdom Day

As per stories, the Yogi Adityanath-led UP authorities and the Chandigarh administration have declared November 28 as a public vacation to commemorate the martyrdom of Sikh guru, Guru Tegh Bahadur.

In accordance with the notification issued by the Chandigarh Administration, all authorities places of work will stay closed on Monday, November 28.

Guru Tegh Bahadur was the ninth Sikh Guru among the many ten Sikh Gurus of Sikhism. He laid down his life for the safety of faith in addition to human values, beliefs and rules. He made himself recognized from a younger age for his qualities of sacrifice and bravado. In accordance with the PIB, he was hanged on the orders of the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb for advocating the non secular freedom of Kashmiri Pandits. Due to his supreme sacrifice, he is called the Chadar of Hind.

The Martyrdom Day of Guru Tegh Bahadur is noticed yearly on 24 November to commemorate the martyrdom of Guru Tegh Bahadur. The Sikh holy complexes Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib and Gurdwara Rakab Ganj Sahib in Delhi mark the locations of Guru Tegh Bahadur’s execution and cremation.
